I actually love the new installer, once I finally got it to work. I
was basically just yanking your chain with that last post, as I found
it amusing that only a few days after I complained, they seemed to
have fixed both the bug and the lack of information in the error
message.

Did I say it was perfect? :) As I said, and *others*, it was a big
improvement over the old days. We've updated the client a few times since
the initial release.
Not sure what point you are trying to make here - but I do hope it works
