Can you do this in CFMX 6.1? The EasyCFM Site shows it for CF5.

Actually, you can't. There are workarounds, but if you have no DSN at
all on your CF server, it's not possible unless you use CF5 AFAIK

Yes
a datasource on that server. I am
getting The ColdFusion MX ODBC Server service is not running or has not
been installed. It won't let me start the service either. So because I am
pressed for time I thought I would try the DSNless Connection (Band Aid).
I am just getting a bit frustrated with CFMX. I
for around $800.

Is your MDAC Version Current?
But really you should be using a DeskTop DB (Access) in a Production
Enviroment.
If you are pressed for funds for purchase

For the last few months I have had nothing but problems with CFMX Timing out
connection to Access Databases or JRUN Shutting Down. I decided to move all
the Access Database Websites to a separate server to see if I could isolate
the problem but now I
they upload the db to the website.
Currently the db is renamed at upload to conform to the surveyed sites
naming convention and the db dir is saved to table on the server(central db)
and later this is pulled to create the DSNless connection to access the
uploaded db,
for displaying info on the website

Hello all
We are looking into upgrading to CFMX from CF5, but one issue we
have not been able to overcome is that
CFMX does not have DSNless db
Thanks for the info, will have to experiment and see what happens

Is there a solution for the other way (create a datasource from my
coldfusion code)?

Can anyone show me a short example of how to create a DSNless connection
to
a mysql server (I only know the hostname, username and password but cannot
create a datasource in the coldfusion mx administrator).
Best regards,

Afaik DSNless connections arnt available in CFMX, the only option would be
to look at some asp examples and use ADO to connect...

Anyone know how to set custom delimiters using a DSNless connection in CF?
I have the following which does work... except for the fact that it's
delimiting based on the commas(,), not the pipes (|).
cfset connectstring =
Driver={Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt;
*.csv)};Format=Delimited(|);Dbq=c
Hi All,
