OK,

Over the last 6 months we have been running pretty extensive metrics on the
way ColdFusion and SQL Server behaves when a long running SQL Server process
runs (commonly with a Stored Procedure actioned by cfstoredproc). Now, we
know and have seen that a long running process in SQL Server may have a few
exclusive locks when updating / inserting but we also know that the SQL
Server is happily performing and serving data during this time for other
tables/sites etc so we are not too worried about them at present. However
if, after a variable amount of time CF doesnt get any more info or data from
SQL Server - the CF Server will just crash without fail - it's like
clockwork and usually the only way to get it to recover is a reboot of the
server.

We haven't tried or looked at any other drivers other than the vanilla 3.3
Drivers which ship with CFMX 6.1 SP1 so I am not sure if the drivers are the
problem as they are not legacy drivers what with 3.4 being released by
DataDirect.

Any ideas?

Windows 2000
IIS 5.x (with IIS Lockdown)
SQL Server 2000 SP3a
ColdFusion 6,1,0,hf56991_611 Enterprise
DataDirect 3.3 JDBC Type 4

Thanks

N
