I have never needed to generate barcodes with ColdFusion, but we use them
extensively so as a hedge against the day when I might, I keep this product
bookmarked.

Probably an over-simplification, but certain barcodes can be generated just
by fonts.
i.e. you output 12345678 but print that with a barcode font and hey presto.
This is the simplest and cheapest way to go about it.
