In fact I believe that figleaf have developed such a tool and will be using it as an example application for figleaf flash training courses. Its called, wait for it the Data Access for SQL Tool of Justice and I believe it will be made available for free !!! Have I look at a mail from Steve

It's funny you mention that -- that was one of the first things I was doing when I learned CF -- although at the time I think I was doing it with Access and I ended up storing the names of tables in a separate table -- long story ... Maybe if I find some spare time I'll draw something up for SQL
