Sam's Teach Yourself series Macromedia Flash MX - this is really basic and
covers the beginnnings of using Flash
ActionScripting in Flash MX covers actionscript exclusively. It's also
geared toward the beginner, so a lot of the info is way too simple

Cold Fusion by Ben Forta is a good example based book. I would also
recommend Actionscript, The Developers Guide from O'Reilly.
