ACE was not, and is not shortlived.
It is a very good compression standard that is still widely used in
various...
umm..circles on the internet.
THey are up to WinACE 2.0 now which provides even better protection, and the
client is quite pretty too!

you can arj unlimited number of files (compare with
WINZIP's limit of 65535) + more intresting switches
and options.
