I have a client that wants to sell their proprietary documents to non-members of their organization. They want to upload word/pdf documents and if the user is a member they can login and have access to the document library. If they are not a member they'll have to purchase a download of each doc.

Off my head, I would think around the line of, a) offer summary for free if there's summary or the like; b) when a) is not available, make page 1 or one third/fifth whatever BR free c) when a is available, combo of a) + b)

You have a couple if issues to consider here. 1) How to deliver the documents only after required authorization. 2) How to allow preview of documents without giving them away. 3) How to protect the document after delivery. These all can be significant requirements with many trade offs. So be
