Would it be a bad idea to do the following?
I have a verity collection on a CF7 Server
>From a CF8 server, I was thinking about adding the collection with in CFide
and point to the cf7 collection with a UNC path
I want the CF8 server to manage the collection
and the CF7 one to search it.

I can't say there is.
In all honestly, there isn't much money being made here, we're pretty
much aiming to break even, so the cost is as low as it will go.
