Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a CF/Java project that we have recently
launched.
The site is Oasis Active (www.oasisactive.com). It is fully developed
in Coldfusion 7 with
a lot of web 2 concepts. The site is entirely developed using Ajax
(with back button support of course!)
- and is
Openfire... by www.igniterealtime.org
We had to develop our own plugins and extend the protocol a bit to
support what we wanted,
but their software is great and open source.

We updated two client libraries you can find on the web... one in
flash (jabberflash) for the direct connection and the other in
javascript supporting http binding (jsjac).

Hi guys,
I'm in the unfortunate position where I HAVE to get a license of
ColdFusion on a server by Monday at the latest.
Of course I'm waiting for 8 like everyone else, I called Adobe and
they said although they have 'free upgrades' to other Adobe software
(like creative suite CS3) they

You need to use a JDBC driver that supports MS SQL2005 though.

Robin,
I agree with you, but if they release on 8/8 then people (including myself)
will think that this was always the date and they worked to this date and
not when the software was necessarily ready. I don't have a problem with
this, it's a deadline and if you don't set deadlines then the

8/8 Release is most likely.
you're right, it certianly sounds good: CF8 on the 8th of the 8th**
besides, when do people need an excuse to have a party? Bring it on.

Was there this much excitement for v7?

Download and install the CF8 Trial, install as 30 day not developer, which
means you get full features.
When CF8 is released (safe bet for 30 days) backup your settings in a CAR
then
Uninstall CF7
Install CF8
Restore your settings. An upgrade might work also, but I couldn't
Daniel, in a nutshell, what role did CF play in the architecture?
