Zac, I've never seen this. I run 7.02 on Windows (XP) as well, with a dual
core Dell, 2 gig ram, IIS, etc. I've run both standalone and multi-server
option. If you're really stuck for ideas, you may know all these but here
are a few:

You say you've stopped the services, but are you sure to have gotten the
CF-related services, like the ODBC and search service?

And since killing them as processes is failing, and while you may try to
kill them in the Services panel, note that it has a timeout after which, if
it can't stop it, it kind of leaves the service inaccessible. Try doing a
command line:

Net stop "service name"

You can get the service name from the properties in the Services panel. For
CFMX, for instance, it's:

"ColdFusion MX 7 Application Server"

If you're really stumped to know what services are starting what processes,
set the CF-related services to "manual" and see if any Jrun-related
processes still fire on a restart.

Subject: [cfaussie] problem with fresh cfmx 7.0.2 install, 50% cpu load on
jrun process

Anyone encountered an issue with 7.0.2 where the jrun process sits on 50%,
this is straight after installing and no code other than the cfmx admin has
been run.

i have re-run the install in different modes and keep getting the same
problem

i am on a dual core toshiba p100 with heaps of ram etc, webserver is IIS

the last install i tried was the multi server jrun option and now i have
shutdown the jrun admin and jrun cfusion services and i still have a rogue
jrun process that i cannot kill via task manager, pskill or process
explorer.

any ideas?
