Re: [cfaussie] ColdFusion Hosting Solutions in AU

Thanks guys,

I found in general hosting in Australia is more expensive than in UK.

http://www.cfmxhosting.co.uk/index.cfm?action=services.hosting#plans

http://hostek.com/hosting/coldfusion/coldfusion-hosting.asp

The site content is pretty simple and *neutral*. And I'm not dealing with
government so I can't see any legislative problems there.

I’m not convinced speed / latency is really an issue these days.

However, hosting in Australia because you want someone local you can talk
 to isn’t a bad idea.

Just not sure if I would care where their servers are located.

Re: [cfaussie] ColdFusion Hosting Solutions in AU

2012-01-24 Thread Brett Herford-Fell
I've done a bit of testing (rackspace, mosso, amazon), and latency is a big
enough issue to be noticeable for our site (graphic intensive by nature).
We run staging servers in US though as it's cheap and easy, and speed isn't
a key feature.

Had some servers in engineyard out of japan and that was pretty fast
though..

ninefold.com seems to be a good cloud offering in aus, maybe a bit
expensive though, but nice set of tools to manage your severs (although can
be a little confusing at first).

Hi guys,

I'm building a website by using FarCry as its backend CMS and I am trying to
figure out what kinds of CF hosting packages are out there in AU.

In particular I'm looking for a relatively cheap, affordable but still
robust CF hosting service. Can anyone please give me some suggestions?

Thanks,
