*Job Description*

The CONSULTANT will be responsible for development tasks, and will assist
in building, managing, operating, and continuously improving the systems,
storage, data quality, and tools infrastructure of the shared Hadoop
platform in a highly available environment. This includes:

•     Focuses on designing, building, deploying and stabilizing the shared
Hadoop platform, related storage, code, services, systems, and tools.

•     Drives standardization and service focused instrumentation.

•     Provides subject matter expertise. Resolves break/fix scenarios,
engaging broader teams as necessary and coordinates/ leads vendors and
partners to achieve continuous improvement.

•     Contributes to command and control related activities focused on
restoration of complex outages, communication across Client, and rapid
restoration.

•     Works and directly leads external vendors, third parties, and
associated agencies when necessary to address development issues across the
infrastructure.

•     Performs on-call duties for the shared Hadoop platform with various
levels of high availability (HA) needs.

•     Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities.

•     Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment for
big data management and business intelligence support.

•          Creates and implements standards around the shared Hadoop
platform

•     Produces development standards, procedures, policies, guidelines and
supporting utilities and documentation for the shared Hadoop platform
development

•          Performs development tasks to fulfill requests and stabilize the
shared Hadoop platform

•          Continuously transfers knowledge in detail to the Client team
members



The CONSULTANT will be the primary development support resource on the NETO
PE team for the shared Hadoop platform. In addition to daily development
support responsibilities for project/ request implementations, the
CONSULTANT will produce the following deliverables:

-           Documentation of processes and workflows for requests and
projects including data storage, big data processing, big data publishing,
analysis, etc., that will be implemented in the overall Hadoop ecosystem,
from request intake, prioritization, requirements gathering, solutioning,
design, implementation, code versioning, delivery, post-implementation to
enhancements/ bug fixes. The deliverables must be documented using
Clientapproved desktop tools and published on standards platform for
review,
approval and sharing.

-           Templates of various deliverables for request intake,
prioritization, requirements gathering and traceability, solutioning,
design, code versioning, implementation, delivery, post-implementation,
enhancements/ bug fixes, etc., in support of the processes and workflows
(see above) for various stereotypes of the shared Hadoop projects. The
deliverables must be documented using Client approved desktop tools and
published on standards platform for review, approval and sharing.

-           A set of sample deliverables based on the processes/ workflows
and templates created for a project. The purpose of the set of documents is
to provide references and examples for other projects to adequately
document the agreements, design, implementation, data lineage, etc. The
deliverables must be documented using Client approved desktop tools and
published on standards platform for review, approval and sharing.

-           Compilation of design patterns, reusable development
components, code examples, naming conventions, supporting documentation,
scripts, and utilities, following the guidance of NETO PE agile methodology
and adhering to Client and NETO PE standards. The deliverables must be
documented using Client approved software tools and templates.

-           Materials for conducting Shared Hadoop Platform Developer’s
Overview workshops, including presentation slide decks, deliverable
demonstration, process introduction and samples, etc. The deliverables must
be documented using Client approved tools and published on standards
platform for in-person or remote communications.

-           Standards Operating Procedures document that include but is not
limited to operation design including code promotion, code management (i.e.
via folder structures and others), publishing procedures, documentation
approval requirements, problem reporting tracking and troubleshoot
procedures. The parties will determine if the workflows should be automated
as part of the engagement. It should include the schematic illustrations of
the physical architecture, the connectivity, the configuration of hardware
and software, etc., following the guidance of NETO PE agile methodology and
adhering to Client and NETO PE standards. Any specific configuration
settings or customizations must be included.  The documentation itself
should be provided as a Word document with Visio or equivalent tools.
