Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park (Maryland’s iSchool) and the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS) invite applications for an open rank tenure-track or tenured position with a focus on computational support for information access and analytics. The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, engage in an active program of high-impact research, provide research advising to students at all levels, and engage in service to the profession and shared governance within the university. Assistant professors are hired for 3 years, with potential renewal for three more years and tenure. Associate Professors can be hired with tenure, or with the potential for future tenure. Professors are hired with tenure. For tenured positions, the tenure home will be the iSchool. A joint appointment in UMIACS is possible for well qualified candidates whose research involves advanced computational methods. UMIACS faculty have renewable term appointments. Salary and benefits are competitive based upon qualifications and experience.
