A friend of mine recently bought a carrier to put in the 12-bolt rear in his Nova, and is trying to find out what kind of carrier it is and what gears are available for it. He said the part # on the carrier reads 3869789. Would anyone happen to know what this might be out of, or what stage

Jim... Here is a couple links that I have found useful. I looked real quick but didnt see the part number out listed but you can check them out anyway. This arent Chevelle specific but the stamping on the carrier seems to hold true throught GM rear ends. Hope this helps.

I have Hooker Super Comp headers with 2.5" mandrel bent tubing. H pipe with Flowmaster 40 series. A pretty popular setup, and for a good reason. Sounds really good. Not too loud, but not too quiet either. They really open up when I stomp on it.

I have Hooker Competition headers, Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, and mandrel-bent 2.5 tailpipes on my BB. I had my muffler shop run the pipe between the collectors and the mufflers, just before it goes over the axle. The Flowmaster pre-bent pipes fit fairly well, the muffler shop was able
