If possible, new features should only be added to the hygienic branch.
The current trunk should only receive bugfixes from now on.
I'd like to move the hygienic branch into trunk in the next days. If there
are any reasons to delay this, please speak up.

Can you copy the current trunk into an old-stable branch (or maybe
in the release/3 branch)? I would like to make one or two more
