Did you build a boot chicken for bootstrapping? Note that you will need a
chicken installed for this.
$ gmake PLATFORM=bsd boot-chicken
$ gmake PLATFORM=bsd CHICKEN=./chicken-boot
$ gmake PLATFORM=bsd install

As a quick fix you can adjust the sendfile.setup to include the features
that are present.
Something like:

I'm trying to use the http-client to talk to a Jira installation.

Jira is documented to support Basic authentication. However it defaults to

around with Chicken Scheme. It does not work perfect, but until
now it has been the best

was sich auf die Performance auswirken könnte? Weil lediglich neu
compilieren und 50% Differenz nach unten - wenn da nix im Compiler ist,
dann muß ich mir wohl einen Kopf um meine Festplatte machen.
