Hmm yes, I tried this on Linux, and I get a similar issue, albeit at a
different juncture. Since this has already been implemented on
Windows, I presume some sort of a port would help.

as a bug, as well as any comments on getting started with work
on the feature - perhaps design discussions through email or IRC, or
pointers to relevant parts of code?
(I've got source trees compiled on both OS X and Linux, so I'm good to
go with the implementations itself)
