Well, a lot of users are probably missing messages because this mailing list is BROKEN. It sends mail spoofing the original sender's address instead of using a list address as the From address. Hence, all mail sent from DMARC protected addresses is filtered by many mail receivers. Apparently the operators of the mailinglist don't want to fix it, so it could be a good idea to jump ship and move on to a mailinglist that is configured more reasonably. Just a reminder, the confirmation email needs to be sent to the chrony-users-requ...@chrony.tuxfamily.org address, not the actual mailing list. Hitting "reply" should work.
