The National Churchill Library and Center (NCLC) at the George Washington
University in Washington, D.C. recently welcomed The Honorable Matthew
Barzun, former United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom for a
discussion about his experiences at the Court of St. James's and the state
of the "Special Relationship". Ambassador Barzun also discusses the current
state of Brexit, and its potential impact on U.S.--U.K. relations. Matthew
Barzun served as Ambassador to the UK from 2013 to 2017 and was previously
Ambassador to Sweden from 2009-2011. He was one of the earliest employees
of CNET Networks, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer and Executive
Vice President. Born in New York, raised in Massachusetts, and now living
in Kentucky, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 1993.
