Dear 9/11 truth activists and concerned citizens,
This is the last email you will receive from me. I am moving to Latin
America in less than a month, and I have decided to officially resign from
the 9/11 Visibility Project. I want to thank everyone who responded to my
article, "9/11 Five Years Later"
inspiring, and your criticisms were both constructive and
thought-provoking. After reading them, I realized I was a bit too
despairing in my assessment of the state of the movement, and so now want
to forward you something hopeful. It is an excerpt from Mia Hamel's most
recent 9/11 truth newsletter, entitled "9/11 Inspiration." While I cannot
vouch for the claimed Tibetan source of the "Shambhala Prophesy,"
nonetheless it conveys great wisdom and practical advice for 9/11 truth
activists. I believe that if we are to succeed, we must not act out of
anger or fear, out of a perception of an "us" and a "them," and out of a
belief that there is a difference between the outside world and our inner
selves. Mia's words reveal an important truth.
Mia Hammel, by the way, is going to court in Tampa tomorrow for an act of
civil disobedience for the cause of 9/11 truth. She has my upmost respect
and appreciation. As a testament to the power of nonviolent civil
disobedience, Mia and her group in Tampa have received what might be the
best, most positive news coverage the 9/11 truth movement has ever seen.
Fox News, in covering her arrest, even showed the collapse of building 7
twice!

9/11 Truth is a keyhole into consciousness. We search our hearts and minds
for meaning and inspiration to effectively spread 9/11 truth. As we
examine our inner landscape and its impact on the exterior world, the
connections offer infinite opportunities for change, and choices of
attitude and behavior. We profoundly sense our interconnectedness.

1. THE SHAMBHALA PROPHESY
Coming to us across twelve centuries, the prophecy about the coming of the
Shambhala warriors illustrates the challenges we face in the Great Turning
and the strengths we can bring to it. Tibetan friends in India have come
to believe that this ancient prophecy referred to this very planet-time.
The signs it foretold are recognizable now, signs of great danger.
There are varying interpretations of this prophecy. Some portray the
coming of the kingdom of Shambhala as an internal event, a metaphor for
one's inner spiritual journey independent of the world around us. Others
present it as an entirely external event that will unfold independently of
what we may choose to do or what our participation may be in the healing
of our world. A third version of the prophecy was given by teacher
Choegyal Rinpoche of the Tashi Jong community in northern India:
"There comes a time when all life on Earth is in danger. Great barbarian
powers have arisen. Although these powers spend their wealth in
preparations to annihilate one another, they have much in common: weapons
of unfathomable destructive power, and technologies that lay waste our
world. In this era, when the future of sentient life hangs by the frailest
of threads, the kingdom of Shambhala emerges. You cannot go there, for it
is not a place; it is not a geopolitical entity. It exists in the hearts
and minds of the Shambhala warriors. Nor can you recognize a Shambhala
warrior when you see her or him, for they wear no uniforms or insignia,
and they carry no banners. They have no barricades on which to climb to
threaten the enemy, or behind which they can hide to rest or regroup. They
do not even have any home turf. Always they must move on the terrain of
the barbarians themselves.
"Now the time comes when great courage — moral and physical courage — is
required of the Shambhala warriors, for they must go into the very heart
of the barbarian power, into the pits and pockets and citadels where the
weapons are kept, to dismantle them. To dismantle weapons, in every sense
of the word, they must go into the corridors of power where decisions are
made.
"The Shambhala warriors have the courage to do this because they know that
these weapons are manomaya, or 'mind-made.' Made by the human mind, they
can be unmade by the human mind. The Shambhala warriors know that the
dangers threatening life on Earth are not visited upon us by any
extraterrestrial power, satanic deities, or preordained evil fate. They
arise from our own decisions, our own lifestyles, and our own
relationships.
"So in this time, the Shambhala warriors go into training. They train in
the use of two weapons ... The weapons are compassion and insight. Both
are necessary.
"You have to have compassion because it gives you the juice, the power,
the passion to move. It means not to be afraid of the pain of the world.
Then you can open to it, step forward, act. But that weapon by itself is
not enough. It can burn you out, so you need the other: insight, into the
radical interdependence of all phenomena. With that wisdom you know that
it is not a battle between 'good guys' and 'bad guys,' because the line
between good and evil runs through the landscape of every human heart.
With insight into our profound inter-relatedness — our deep ecology — you
know that actions undertaken with pure intent have repercussions
throughout the web of life, beyond what you can measure or discern. By
itself, that insight may appear too cool, too conceptual, to sustain you
and keep you moving, so you need the heat of compassion. Together, insight
and compassion can sustain us as agents of wholesome change. They are
gifts for us to claim now in the healing of our world.
"These two weapons of the Shambhala warrior represent two essential
aspects of the Work that Reconnects. One is the recognition and experience
of our pain for the world. The other is the recognition and experience of
our radical, empowering interconnectedness with all life."

2. OPEN YOUR HEART TO GAIA
Step 1- Take a few moments to open to the beauty and fragility of our Home
Planet and to admit to yourself how deeply you love this planet, how
terribly sad you are about so much of what is going on right now and how
very afraid you are of all that seems to wait for us in the near future.
Step 2 - Hold a vision of the world you want to live in - the world you
want to leave behind for the children born today, a world of justice and
harmony and breathtaking beauty.
Step 3 - Affirm your intention to do YOUR part to heal our home by holding
it, and everyone in it, in love in all you think and say and do. Ask
quietly "What is MY part today in bringing the Great Turning into full
manifestation?"
Step 4 - Trust that there is a Guiding Consciousness Of Infinite Love and
Wisdom in and around you - permeating everything and everyone everywhere -
that wants you to feel safe and be happy. Imagine that you invite this
Consciousness to show you how to live fearlessly for peace and in peace
today. Ask for its help. Then let it help guide what you think and say
and do throughout the days that lie ahead...

3. GREAT TURNING GUIDELINES
Come From Gratitude
To be alive in this beautiful, self-organizing universe--to participate in
the dance of life with senses to perceive it, lungs that breathe it,
organs that draw nourishment from it--is a wonder beyond words.
Gratitude for the gift of life is the primary wellspring of all religions,
the hallmark of the mystic, the source of all true art. Furthermore, it is
a privilege to be alive in this time when we can choose to take part in
the self-healing of our world.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
This is a dark time, filled with suffering and uncertainty. Like living
cells in a larger body, it is natural that we feel the trauma of our
world. So don't be afraid of the anguish you feel, or the anger or fear,
for these responses arise from the depth of your caring and the truth of
your interconnectedness with all beings. To suffer with is the literal
meaning of compassion.
Dare To Vision
Out of this darkness a new world can arise, not to be constructed by our
minds so much as to emerge from our dreams. Even though we cannot see
clearly how it's going to turn out, we are still called to let the future
into our imagination. We will never be able to build what we have not
first cherished in our hearts.
Roll Up Your Sleeves
Many people don't get involved in the Great Turning because there are so
many different issues, which seem to compete with each other. Shall I
expose 9/11 Truth, promote adherence to the Geneva Conventions or work on
voting reform? The truth is that all aspects of the current crisis reflect
the same mistake of setting ourselves apart and using others for our gain,
the prevalence of deception and the betrayal of trust. So to heal one
aspect helps the others to heal as well. Just find what you love to work
on and take joy in that. No need to try to do it alone. Link up with
others; you'll spark each others' ideas and sustain each others' energy.
Act Your Age
Since every particle in your body goes back to the first flaring forth of
space and time, the 'Big Bang', you truly are as old as the universe. So
when you are lobbying at your congressperson's office, visiting your local
firehouse with a 9/11 DVD, debating on a call in show with a government
shill about the Popular Mechanics article, or rallying the activists to
get out there and make their presence known, you are doing that not out of
some personal whim, but in the full authority of your 15 billion years of
existence. Mother Earth needs us to stand up for her now to preserve our
heritage and build our shared future. Her stewardship is our larger
mission.
