Then, after abducting theirtarget and flying him to Cairo under the noses of Italian police, some ofthem rounded out their European trip with long weekends in Venice andFlorence before leaving the country, the records show.Milan prosecutors and police spent the last two years documenting Americans'role in the Feb. 17, 2003 disappearance of Hussan Mustafa Omar Nasr, 42, anEgyptian cleric. On Thursday, a Milan judge ruled that there was enoughevidence to warrant the arrest of 13 suspected CIA operatives on kidnappingcharges. The Americans' whereabouts are unknown, and Italian authorities acknowledgedthat the odds were slim that they would ever be taken into custody. The CIAhas declined to comment. While most of the operatives apparently used false identities, they left along trail of paper and electronic records that enabled Italianinvestigators to retrace their movements in detail. Posing as tourists andbusiness travelers, the Americans often stayed in the same five-star hotels, rarely paid in cash, gave their frequent traveler account numbers to deskclerks and made dozens of calls from unsecure phones in their rooms.During January 2003, they were regular patrons at the Hotel Principe diSavoia in Milan, which bills itself as "one of the world's most luxuriouslyappointed hotels" and features a marble-lined spa and minibar Cokes thatcost about $10. Seven of the Americans stayed at the 80-year-old hotel forperiods ranging from three days to three weeks at nightly rates of about$450, racking up total expenses of more than $42,000 there. The first operative came to Milan on Dec. 7, 2002 and stayed for 11 days atthe Milan Westin Palace, according to the court documents. The othersstarted arriving in early January and by Feb. 1 almost all of them were inplace. They eschewed safe houses and private homes, bunking instead atplaces such as the Milan Hilton ($340 a night) and the Star Hotel Rosa ($325a night). In early February, most of the operatives gathered for a rendezvous in LaSpezia, an Italian seaside resort town on the Ligurian coast, almost athree-hour drive from Milan. Hotel records show that they checked into twohotels in La Spezia but stayed for only a few hours before departing. Someof them then drove to Florence for an overnight trip, but the rest returnedto Milan.According to Milan investigators, there were two distinct groups. One crewof six was in charge of planning and surveillance, checking out possibleescape routes and procuring cell phones. Each of those people left thecountry about a week before Nasr was reported missing. The other group -- which included almost all of those whose arrests are nowbeing sought -- was in charge of the kidnapping operation itself, accordingto court documents. On Feb. 17, shortly after noon, Nasr walked down the Via Guerzoni toward amosque to attend daily prayers. He was being watched by a crew of eightoperatives, who accosted him on the sidewalk, sprayed chemicals in his faceand shoved him into the back of a white van, according to an eyewitnessstatement given to investigators. The Americans, who between them were carrying 17 cell phones, immediatelystarted dialing numbers in Italy and the United States, according toinvestigators, who reported that by piecing together records of thosephones' electronic signals they were able to trace the route of the van asit headed toward Aviano Air Base, a joint U.S.-Italian militaryinstallation. The van entered the base without being stopped at the regular securitycheckpoints, Milan investigators found. Court documents show that a U.S.colonel at the air base in charge of security received three phone callsfrom the operatives as they drove toward Aviano.Milan prosecutors said they would ask the U.S. government for permission tointerrogate the colonel, concluding that "it reasonably appears that he wasinvolved with the execution of this kidnapping and safekeeping of thehostage." The colonel now works at the Pentagon, according to a reportSaturday in Corriere della Sera, an Italian

He was 62. Helms, who once stood at the center of the 1960s Bay Area music scene, died Saturday surrounded by friends and family at San Francisco's California Pacific Medical Center. ``It was a beautiful death,'' said his wife Judy Davis. ``It was a goodbye party. We all sang to him and told stories. He died as he lived - surrounded by love.'' Helms was the founder and manager of Big Brother and the Holding Company with Joplin as its lead singer. He was a rock-'n'-roll impresario who helped stage free concerts and ``Human Be-ins'' at Golden Gate Park that became the backdrop for what became known as San Francisco's Summer of Love in 1967 at the height of anti-Vietnam War sentiment. Helms was instrumental in helping to develop bands that delivered what became known as the San Francisco Sound. ``Without Chet, there would be no Grateful Dead, no Big Brother and the Holding Company, no Jefferson Airplane, no Country Joe the Fish, no Quicksilver Messenger Service,'' said Barry Melton, the lead guitarist for Country Joe the Fish. Helms hooked Joplin up with Big Brother for jam sessions in a basement in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood. They debuted in June 1966 at the Avalon, officially launching the bluesy rock-'n'-roll diva's short career. Helms eventually dropped out of the concert business for a time in 1970. ``Chet was a hippie,'' said Mickey Hart, drummer for the Grateful Dead. ``We were all hippies. ''Its job is not to investigate individuals, butto clear streets, protect facilities and help first responders.''Top Guard officers said that they have no intentions of breakinglong-established rules barring the military from gathering information onAmericans and that the evolving program is meant to help California and thenation thwart terrorist attacks.''We do not do any type of surveillance or human intelligence or mixing withcrowds,'' said Lt. Col. Stan Zezotarski. ''The National Guard does notoperate in that way. We have always had a policy where we respect the rightsof citizens.''Forming the unit|Generally, the National Guard is called upon to help the state deal withnatural disasters and riots. But the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have putmajor strains on the military, which has started drawing more on Guardsoldiers to fight overseas. And now Guard units are being integrated intoanti-terrorism efforts in the United States. The intelligence unit was quietly established last year by Major Gen. ThomasEres, the National Guard leader who was forced by the Schwarzeneggeradministration to retire earlier this month. Eres left amid allegations thathe failed to prove his shooting skills for a trip to Iraq, set up aquestionable military flight for a Republican friend's political group, andimproperly used money meant to stem the flow of drugs for anti-terrorismprograms.Just before Eres retired, the Guard hired its first director for theintelligence unit who has ''broad authority'' and is expected to ''exercisea high degree of independent judgment and discretion,'' according to the jobdescription obtained by the Mercury News.''However, highly controversial or precedent-setting decisions, directivesand policies are discussed with the appropriate senior leadership prior toimplementation,'' the description states.Col. Robert J. O'Neill, a veteran intelligence officer who started last weekas director of the new program, said he envisions his team as being aone-stop shop for local, state and national law enforcement to shareinformation. Intelligence officers will have access to sensitive nationalsecurity information that they can analyze and potentially share with stateand local law enforcement, he said.''We are trying to integrate into their systems and bring them informationthat they don't have,'' O'Neill said.He said his unit would not cross any legal lines into spying on Americans. But the Guard's role in monitoring at least one demonstration has alreadyalarmed civil libertarians.Tracking the rally|Last month, a group of anti-war activists, including the parents of Americansoldiers killed in Iraq, held a small Mother's Day rally at the VietnamVeteran's Memorial near the California Capitol to call for the return of allNational Guard troops by Labor Day.Three days before the rally, as a courtesy to the military, an aide in Gov.Arnold Schwarzenegger's press office alerted the Guard to the event, according to e-mails obtained by the Mercury News. The information was passed up the chain of command directly to

“Preening
Moralists” and CAFTAJune 26th,
2005
GM is cutting 25,000 jobs,
It’s stock rises on the news. Ford announces new “restructuring” plans to make
itself more competitive, a 5% reduction in its U.S. salaried force. The balance
of trade figures appall with each monthly release. Real manufacturing jobs
emigrate with each passing year. China booms, oil prices skyrocket, the southern
border is in turmoil. So what is the White House and Congress now focused on?
—The passage of a new trade agreement.
To an interested observer
of the passing 21st Century scene, an appealing characteristic of the Republican
Party is its acceptance of differing points of view. Despite what the mainstream
Press may want you to believe Republicans, not Democrats, are really the
intellectual members of the Party of “inclusion” in America. From Schwarzenegger
to Rice to Buchanan, the inaccurately labeled “Right” incorporates a wide array
of views, values and ideas. Democrats have become so ideologically rigid that
any person who deviates on a given issue, say Abortion, is cast into immediate
oblivion, scorned as something politically “unclean” and silenced. Thus
Democrats have largely removed themselves from serious debate and consideration.
They have forfeited their place in the arena of ideas. In virtually every case
of policy discussion, they revert to pre-determined talking points, slogans and
name-calling. They are both uninterested and uninteresting.
Therefore, by default, it
is within the Republican Party and its intellectual support that the real
national debate on policy issues must occur. And for this reason it is
imperative that the debate be based on facts, compelling argument, and
respectful consideration of sincere motives.
As an example of what is
necessary, readers of this space will recognize that in journals like The
American Thinker can be found thoughtful articles by conservative
thinkers of divergent viewpoints. Respectful examination of ideas is the goal.
An example of what must be avoided occurs in a recent issue of a conservative
iconic Authority.
National Review,
which in large part provided the intellectual foundation of the Reagan
Revolution, has taken (July 4 issue) a strong stance on the Central American
Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). They editorialize that CAFTA must be passed, not
only to advance our national economic interests, but also “to reaffirm our
decades-long commitment to Central American democracy.” They argue that the
region remains unstable and is ripe for anti-American backlash.

  “CAFTA would liberalize
trade between the United States and Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala,
Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, bringing greater wealth to all
  involved.”
This, of course, is a
debatable point. The results of NAFTA should be carefully examined when
considering the statement, but that is not the issue here.
They continue the editorial
citing further reasons for passage. The likes of Daniel Ortega and Hugo Chavez,
they argue, will lose influence.“ The Central America middle class,” would be,
“strengthened.”
Now whether the
“strengthening” of a foreign countries middle class may or may not be of
compelling interest to the American taxpayer is arguable. NR is
swimming in choppy waters. The rhetoric fails to match the substance. Obviously,
they want this thing passed and in the concluding remarks give the game
away.
“An alliance of powerful
lobbies and preening moralists threatens to derail the pact.” (A remark worthy
of Howard Dean) Ignoring a large segment of thoughtful conservative
demurrals, it goes on blaming

  “the left’s usual
sentimentalists, who denounce trade agreements with any nation where labor and
environmental standards differ from those found in Ann Arbor, Michigan.”
“Congress,” it thunders, “should turn its back on
  protectionists.”
“Sentimentalists”
notwithstanding, free trade, as a preferred economic concept, has been a staple
of conservative thought for a long time. free trade as a desired good has
“moral” underpinnings after all. Unfortunately, free trade as practiced over the
last few decades has been neither “free” nor “trade”, but merely international
arrangements designed to inhibit some behaviours, encourage others, and enhance
desirable geo-political goals – such as the restoration of Japan and
Germany.
Economies as different as
China, India, Mexico, and the US share neither sympathetic political
arrangements, nor moral, philosophical and cultural foundations. Free trade, to
date, is an illusion.
If true free trade is

[cia-drugs] State of the Notion -- CIA Mind Control

2005-06-26 Thread Skews Me

CIA Mind Control
Mind control is not only possible, but has been done before and is still continuing on unsuspecting people all over the United States of America. Through various behavior modifying techniques, including hypnosis and powerful drugs, the ancient desire to control people with magical potions had come alive again in the 1940’s. The US government, by ignoring fundamental ethical codes throughout their programs aimed at controlling human behavior, rival the Nazis in cruel and unusual research.
Since World War II, the United States government, mainly the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has secretly and, at times, inhumanely, sought a way to control human behavior. The CIA mind control programs were not only a continuation of the Office of Strategic Services’ (OSS, America’s W.W.II intelligence agency) quest for a truth drug, but also the beginnings of a drug culture in America.
As far as we can tell by documented evidence, modern day mind control started in Nazi Germany, was continued by the US military, then the CIA sunk into it. The CIA expanded mind control projects more than ever before, testing on thousands of subjects all over the country, thus violating a basic principle of the CIA.…
The CIA barged into the mind control research field shortly after its creation and has ever since been involved in one way or another in mind control. The Agency began its research with experiments in hypnosis. Hypnosis, generally speaking, can not make someone do something that they normally would not do. However, if you can change their beliefs in a situation while they are hypnotized, you can get the subject to murder or do almost anything else.…
Murder is not the only anti-social act that people can be forced to do with the use of hypnosis and post hypnotic suggestions. (Post hypnotic suggestion, or PHS, is a hypnotically implanted suggestion that is cued by a specific word, sound, etc., that would trigger the programmed act.) When drugs are added, PHS is much easier and the right subject could be programmed to do anything.…
In case the subject ever remembered being hypnotized and programmed, the “doctors” would install false memories to cover up what really happened. This way, even if the subject began to remember things related to his programming, he would remember it incorrectly. The method of retrieving covered or forgotten, painful, traumatizing memories is called regression therapy. Regression therapy has brought forth many forgotten abuses, mind control experiments and other troubling experiences.…
The CIA’s mind control programs went unnoticed by the public and most of the federal government until Nelson Rockefeller headed a commission to investigate CIA abuses [in 1975]. Among the long list of abuses mentioned was Frank Olson’s death. It interested many people how an unnamed Army employee had jumped out a hotel window to his death after CIA men had given him LSD without his knowledge. This interest led to hearings on the CIA’s unethical research.…
Unwitting testing was not only done on adults, but also on children. Dr. Martin Orne, a founding member of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation, conducted CIA funded mind control experiments on children in the 1950’s. Two former patients of CIA-connected studies testified before the Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments. The two women say the experiment sessions occurred when they were about eight years old and involved electroshock, hypnosis, shots (drugs), sexual abuse and intelligence tradecraft training.… More evidence of child mind control came to light in 1995 during the President’s Advisory Committee on Radiation Experiments (Clinton’s apology).… To rob a child of his or her innocence by making them perform sexual acts, altering their behavior by
electronic means or any of the other…tactics used by the CIA is inexcusable and disheartening.1
Some of the children subjected to the experimentation, according to New Orleans psychologist Valerie Wolf, were fragmented by trauma-based programming into a spate of alternate personalities. “Most of these patients responded to certain sounds,” Wolf reported in testimony to the President’s Advisory Committee on Radiation Experiments on March 15, 1995, “clickers, metronomes or just clicking the tongue or hand clapping. Patients would vacillate from calm to robotically asking, ‘Who do you want me to kill?’“
They were triggered to attempt suicide and attack the therapist, or march out of the office in a fugue state to assassinate somebody. Claudia Mullens, a survivor of the experiments, testified at the Advisory Committee hearings about a trip in 1959 to the Deer Creek camp in Maryland, then used to train child prostitutes for sexual blackmail operations. At the camp, she was the “guest” of a Mr. Sheiber, an alias of the CIA’s notorious LSD meister Dr. Sidney Gottleib:
Most of the men I came to know well were either there as observers or volunteer targets. We were taught different ways to

MENTAL HEALTH, EDUCATION AND SOCIAL
CONTROL Part 14

By Dennis L. Cuddy, Ph.D.June 20, 2005
In Part 13 of this
series, I briefly mentioned the new book, ONE NATION UNDER THERAPY: HOW THE
HELPING CULTURE IS ERODING SELF-RELIANCE (2005), by Christina Hoff Sommers and
Sally Satel, M.D. The authors claim that "children, more than any group, are
targeted for therapeutic improvementThe propensity of experts to pathologize
and medicalize healthy children en masse has gotten way out of hand. The past
decade has seen a cascade of books and articles promoting the idea that
seemingly content and well-adjusted Americans---adults as well as children---are
emotionally damaged."
Unfortunately,
President George W. Bush's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health (NFCMH) has
proposed screening all of America's youth. Used to support this initiative will
be the recent findings of the National Comorbidity Survey Replication (NCSR),
the results of which are published in the June edition of the ARCHIVES OF
GENERAL PSYCHIATRY. It found that half of those who will ever be diagnosed with
a mental disorder show signs of the disease by age 14. In Rick Weiss' "Study:
U.S. Leads In Mental Illness, Lags in Treatment" (THE WASHINGTON POST, June 7,
2005), one also learns that the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
funded the $20 million NCSR study, which found that one-quarter of all Americans
met the criteria for having a mental illness within the past year. The study
also found that almost half of Americans meet the criteria for such an illness
at some point in their lives, and that less than half of those in need get
treated. Thomas Insel, chief of the NIMH, expressed his disappointment to learn
from the survey that about a third of people in need rely solely on
nonprofessional sources such as internet support groups and spiritual advisers.
You might ask yourself at this point what kind of broad definition they are
using to determine that half of the American population will be mentally ill at
some point, and you might also ask what is wrong with relying upon spiritual
advisers?
Countering
advocates of mental health screening, Dr. Karen Effrem in an October 31, 2004
letter to THE WASHINGTON TIMES titled "Go Slow on Mental Health Screening"
cautioned: "Given the very real problems of already existing coercion,
subjective criteria, dangerous and ineffective medication, and the failure of
screening to prevent suicide, none of which are covered in the NFC report,
Congress would be wise to withhold the $44 million requested for state grants to
implement the NFC recommendations. Whatever good may come from the other
recommendations is completely overshadowed by the loss of freedom and damage
that would come from labeling and drugging potentially millions of children
based on these unsupportable screening and treatment programs. If we don't act
now, every child in America will be screened for mental illness: thousands,
perhaps millions, will be deemed 'at risk' of developing mental health problems
for which they will be prescribed powerful psychotropic drugs. The screening
plan has been called Orwellian and diabolical---the treatment 'model' the report
recommends is a drug-industry sponsored guideline---the Texas Medication
Algorithm Project (TMAP)." The first TMAP model was adopted in 1995 in Texas
when President Bush was Governor of that state.
One of the
major forces behind TMAP was the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) mentioned
in earlier Parts of this series. About the time TMAP began in 1995, the RWJF
gave a sizeable grant for TMAP to Dr. Ken Altshuler in the Psychiatry Department
at the University of Texas and Dr. John Rush in pharmacology at the same
university. Chairman of the RWJF's National Advisory Council for its Mental
Health Services Program for Youth (MHSPY) was former North Carolina Governor
James B. Hunt, Jr., also mentioned in earlier Parts of this series. After the
foundation's MHSPY National Program Office in 1990 awarded implementation grants
to 8 states, it then awarded replication grants to 11 states, including Texas,
between July 1994 and October 1996. In Texas and other states, the Child and
Adolescent Strengths Assessment (CASA) was used, looking at whether a child had
a particular vocational skill, an ability to trust others, and experienced
religious/spiritual beliefs among other things. The states used outcomes-based
planning and implemented outcomes-based systems of care.
The TMAP, of
course, was not the first government program regarding children's mental health.

[cia-drugs] The Globalists' Best Friend: Americans' Ignorance

2005-06-26 Thread norgesen

The Europeans are ahead of us on the world
government track. But with the huge push to approve CAFTA at the top of the
globalist agenda here, we are rapidly catching up.

THE GLOBALISTS' BEST FRIEND: AMERICANS'
IGNORANCE

By
Steven YatesJune 21, 2005
Author’s
Note: this is a slightly different version of an article published in the Times
Examiner, based in Greenville, S.C., on June 15, 2005.
Recently,
France and the Netherlands dealt the European wing of the globalist
Establishment a slap in the face. They used the polls to turn thumbs down on the
European Union Constitution. They can’t rest on their laurels, of course. The
idea of an EU Constitution is not dead, just on hold. The same is true of the
longstanding elitist plan to impose a European megastate on the once separate
nations of the region.
This whole
affair testifies to the disparity in thought between the elites and the voting
populations, and how little the former understand the latter. Copies of the EU
Constitution were distributed to every household in France—all 300 or so pages
of it. A lot of the French likely read it. Perhaps they read the second
paragraph of the Preface which states, “The convention was asked to draw up
proposals on three subjects: how to bring citizens closer to the European design
and European institutions, how to organize politics and the European political
area in an enlarged Union, and how to develop the Union as a stabilizing factor
and a model in the new world order.”
There’s that
phrase again. I continue to marvel at those who believe we “conspiracy-theory”
types just imagine all this stuff.
Perhaps the
citizens of France and the Netherlands read an agenda that differs little from
the UN agenda. Perhaps they read that the EU “shall contribute to peace,
security, the sustainable development of the earth, solidarity and mutual
respect among peoples, free and fair trade, eradication of poverty and
protection of human rights and in particular children’s rights, as well as to
strict observance and development of international law, including respect for
the principles of the United Nations Charter.”
What an
intellectually confused recipe for a sprawling, ever-expanding Leviathan of
unelected globocrats, micromanaging everyone and everything in sight!
Or, finally,
perhaps the French and Dutch read that under Article 10 in this new world order,
“The Constitution, and law adopted by the Union’s Institutions in exercising
competences conferred upon it, shall have primacy over the laws of the Member
States” and that “Member States shall take all appropriate measures, general or
particular, to ensure fulfillment of the obligations flowing from the
Constitution or resulting from Union Institutions’ acts.”
There you have
it: the sovereignty-destroying element of the EU Constitution. The French and
Dutch read it. And they responded appropriately, at the polls.
It is not as
if their nations don’t have immense problems. The French have a huge
unemployment rate, and the Dutch have embraced euthanasia. The dominant economic
systems in Europe are essentially socialist (they would prefer the term “social
democrat,” of course). European culture is dying rapidly if it isn’t already
dead. But the French and Dutch value their sovereignty, and voted to preserve it
from the globalists. I suppose one must start somewhere.
I wonder if
Americans would do the same, if confronted with a Western hemispheric
“constitution” in the world envisioned by our wing of the globalist
Establishment. The Europeans are ahead of us on the world government track. But
with the huge push to approve CAFTA at the top of the globalist agenda here, we
are rapidly catching up. And in America, we have a handicap the Europeans don’t
have.
Back in
January I was conversing with a man in the singles group of the church I’d begun
attending here in Greenville. I was explaining some of my writing and what I
thought the primary threats to this nation are. As I enumerated, he asked me,
“What’s Sustainable Development?”
Just last
weekend, the same person asked me, “What is the Real ID bill?”
That’s the
problem, my friends, in a nutshell.
Unlike
Europeans, relatively few Americans read except for entertainment. Their primary
interests are money and sports. Most do not follow current events that are not
affecting them directly and immediately; the few who do, are unaware of what is
not covered by the mainstream media. So they can’t tell you what Sustainable
Development is. They’ve never heard of Agenda 21.
(“CAFTA?” I can almost hear someone saying. “’Zat got somethin’ ta do with
NASCAR?”)
Few Americans
today can tell you there even is an EU Constitution. A sizeable fraction of
school-to-work educated college and university students cannot find Europe on a
map.
Suppose a
printed copy of the final version of CAFTA was sent to every household in
America. Would Americans read it? My guess

[cia-drugs] Fwd: [bohemian_club] Annual Protests Scheduled at Bohemian Grove, Calif., July 15-17

Moore, 707-874-2248For Protest Logistics: Don Eichelberger, 415-567-4577,or Paul Encimer, 707-540-9061This July 15-17 will mark 25 years of protest at the exclusive mens-only club for the wealthy elite, Bohemian Grove, Calif. In 1980, a small Sonoma County-based group, SONOMoreAtomics, began researching some of the corporations that were profiting from nuclear power and weapons. Since Bohemian Grove was located in their backyard, they began a protest to make the connections between the top elite of the corporate, banking, military and governmental circles.Within a week through contacts inside the Grove, they obtained a membership and guest list, and the serious research began. That same year, a reporter from Mother Jones magazine made contact, and the protesters helped him to get inside. By 1981, national attention had been called to this once-secret gathering through articles in Mother Jones and Parade Magazine - the latter by Jack Anderson.By July 1981, a network of 81 peace, environmental and justice groups had formed a coalition called the Bohemian Grove Action Network, which has called attention to this elite network of the "good old boys" for the past 25 years. Special attention has been given to the daily "Lakeside Talks," which have included presidents, CEOs of the Fortune 500, the head of the World Bank, and assorted military leaders. The club's members include many U.S. presidents. George H.W. Bush and Gerald Ford are both members, as was the late Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, and every Republican President since Herbert Hoover. There has not been a Democratic president as a member, but Pat Brown was a member when he was California governor."We saw in 1980 and 1984 how unified 'Bohemia' was around Ronald Reagan," said Don Eichelberger, a long-time organizer of grove protests and current state Green Party co-chair of the Green Issues Working Group. "We know from their own archives that the Manhattan Project was conceived and promoted at the Grove, and that a deal supporting Eisenhower over Nixon for president in 1956 was struck there. So no question that 'weaving spiders' do come there." The latter statement referred to the club's motto, "Weaving spiders come not here!" "These men constitute the biggest back room in the country, whose deals have sealed the fate of America as a bully willing to use its might to help them make more money and control the nation," said Paul Encimer of Emerald Greens and co-coordinator of the convergence."In reality, these are public policy talks given without public scrutiny," added Mary Moore, co-founder of BGAN.This July 15, the incoming Bohemians will be greeted at the gates as they arrive for the first weekend of their two-week summer encampment. On Saturday, July 16, on the day that the Bohemians stage a ceremony, protesters will be at the gates. On Sunday, July 17, activists will convene in the Monte Rio amphitheater to network and strategize. This year's protest is being organized by the California State Greens and endorsed by various social activist groups and individuals. For more information, call the above phone numbers or go tohttp://www.sonomacountyfreepress.com/bohos/bohoindx.htmlYahoo! [cia-drugs] Fwd: [ctrl] Sibel Edmonds-An Appeal2The Internet Community

2005-06-26 Thread RoadsEnd

Begin forwarded message:From: Neo Mulder [EMAIL PROTECTED]Date: June 26, 2005 6:56:41 PM PDTTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: [ctrl] Sibel Edmonds-An Appeal2The Internet CommunityReply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sibel Edmonds - An Appeal To The Internet Community By W. David Jenkins III   There has been much activity on the Internet the last few weeks regarding the Downing Street Minutes - and rightfully so. Documentation proving the Bush administration manufactured intelligence in order to invade Iraq should be on the front page of every newspaper and should be the lead story on every newscast - but we all know how things work (or don't work) these days. However, the strength and determination of the Internet Community has managed to keep this story from disappearing while, at the same time, applying pressure to the mainstream media. In one instance, it seems that the Washington Post felt enough pressure by angry readers who were outraged by the paper's burying the Downing Street story on page 18 two weeks after the news broke in Britain . Just this past Sunday (June 12), the Post featured a follow-up story on yet another document proving the Bush administration was ignoring any suggestions for post-invasion Iraq - which helps to explain the bloody chaos wrought upon that country, thanks to us - but this time the Post put the story on Page One. And of course there was Representative John Conyers' forum on June 16 that set the foundation for an ongoing look into those documents, which now total nine. All due to the relentless work of the Internet Community. Nice work, gang.     Click to join catapultthepropaganda    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/catapultthepropaganda/join * * * As important as the Downing Street Minutes and continued pressure on the mainstream media are to revealing the truth to the nation, there is another critically important story that requires our attention and our action - and the clock is ticking away on this one. We have only until the end of July to make a difference and perhaps turn the course of history. Of course, I'm referring to Sibel Edmonds and, after my conversations with her, I felt I should make an effort before time runs out and her witness to significant governmental chicanery is suppressed by the government forever. On May 14, Edmonds published "Gagged, But Not Dead" which can still be read on her website where she updates the reader on the status of her case and the subsequent gag order placed not only on her but also on members of Congress forbidding even discussing matters relating to her case! Many of you may still be nauseous after being lectured to by the likes of criminals such as G. Gordon Liddy and Chuck Coleson in the wake of Mark Felt outing himself as "Deep Throat." These ex-convicts, along with former Nixonians like Pat Buchanan, ranted repeatedly that Felt should have followed the "proper channels of authority" if he had had a problem with the Watergate scandal rather than sneaking off to the Washington Post. Sibel Edmonds is the perfect example of why Felt did the right thing when he leaked to the Post: those "proper channels of authority" in the Nixon administration were corrupt. Those "proper channels" were active co-conspirators themselves. However, the Nixon administration's activities were simple child's play compared to the practiced corruption that rules the Bush II administration - and whistleblowers like Edmonds, Colleen Rowley and others now know that. Hopefully for them and all of us, there's still time to correct the dismaying non-results their adherence to following "proper channels" have produced. Edmonds testified for more than three hours behind closed doors to the 9/11 Commission about, assumedly, her concerns over breeches of security from within the FBI, specifically those of fellow linguist Melek Can Dickerson, wife of USAF Major Douglas Dickerson. There were also concerns of the FBI withholding valuable information from field agents specializing in terrorism investigations by unit supervisor Mike Feghali. The usual reasoning behind this practice is that the information also contains references to "certain countries" or "lucrative or political connections with this country [U.S.]"In other words, if exposing a targeted terrorist cell's illegal activities would prove embarrassing to either the "interests" of the United States or one of our allies, then the matter is tucked away. These and other concerns raised by Edmonds have been confirmed by the FBI - as stated openly by Senators Patrick Leahy and Charles Grassley - and they were also supported by documentation and corroborating witnesses. Yet, after more than three hours of testimony before the Commission, Sibel Edmonds is barely a footnote in the official 9/11 report. Edmonds submitted an open letter to the Commission
