He spoke what a parrot on his shoulder told him to say. He favored Allen. I said Webb went to Annapolis. That tied the foxtails together if nothing else. Contracting, I met an Irish CEO who was using wavelets, fast fourrier, chaos pattern fitting to locate Russian subs from surface wave disturbance. I met a guy who had worked at Hazleton when the ebola got out. We moved a mattress for a high level Obama pr person, in charge of healthcare pr. I have moved 1000 loads for poor and underclass, just bags and some furniture, and then countless grocery trips. I generally don't meet the govt people there, but once I was on the way to funeral at Homicide Church on Nanny Burroughs when a man on the corner said,Don't cry. I wasn't crying. I had stopped for a pizza at a sicilian place. The mother had closure very soon after the funeral but didn't smile for a year. I haven't gone back for the anchovies because I can't afford the tip yet. That was not the right time to stop the cycle. Some boys are not the same. This time one of the dads of the four dead in Anacostia said not to retaliate. He's right. A young man on the corner on Howard Road said,We don't need another Rambo. We don't need no counter-insurgency. People are the insurgency. The internet offers a greater degree of transparency and opportunity to break the disgusting lowest denominator control mechanisms and release a larger economy as a result. I don't think the war in Afghanistan is going well, but to a great extent the real war is the one the people here see on TV and pay for. Surface news is advertising. Les Coleman's book Trail of the Octopus says that while in Cyprus he found antennas on his apartment building that were being used to receive messages hidden in Palestinian taxi cab radio transmissions. Coleman had his family in the building, and had to work in a DEA office which was filled with Lebanese heroin trade informants who could all see each other and him, and he had previously worked in Lebanon himself in conflicting cover so he and his fam were in constant danger. I was getting attention because I gave a ride to somebody they regarded as a rat for calling cops on them because they were using the interior stairs for seating for a social club, no problem, but were verbally intimidating and scared a resident into having police ban them from the stairs. They shoot in the air after cop cars pass with their lights flashing, many times. I waited on another corner for a person to show up, and an undercover (I did not know so) asked if I wanted him to unlock the building front door but I declined the offer. A rented van asked a woman on the corner who I was, which did not make sense right away, but then after a no-show I decided to leave and then pretty soon the police jumped out all over with guns drawn and stayed into the next day when a horse-mounted cop joined in. Not sure what that was really about, and police so far do not say they know of a motive for tonight's driveby.
