will be loaded at the same time as the video track. Before the program
would load the video track, which takes a lot longer, and then serially

I do not understand which Operating System you are using (I guess
UbuntuStudio_19.10).
In addiction to what Phyllis wrote, you can see a video to install

Make your life a lot easier by installing Cinelerra from the tar file. If
you are using Mint 19, here are the steps to do that.
1) download the tar file via the internet by clicking on the link provided
below and choosing "Save file":
