Until recently the 65xx and 76xx were the same car, just a different

65xx will be running the 12.2SX train. This is aimed more at the
enterprise/DC space. If you want modular IOS, and MPLS features
targeted more towards the Enterprise, this

The 6500 is generally recommended for Converged Enterprise LAN/WAN, while the

Hi,
SRB2 came out a handful of days ago. Anyone care to comment on
stability and bugs fixed or created?
Half a million bugs fixed, give or take. ;-)
So far it's running smoothly. The issues we've seen with SRB and SRB1
have all been addressed in SRB2. Haven't noticed any new ones so far.

Feeling just a little stupid here. I'm wanting to gather the 5min. Average
packets-per-second data from individual interfaces on 29xx switches via
SNMP. The data is available via sh int but I can't for the life of me
seem to find a corresponding oid. Maybe I'm reading the MIBs wrong, but I

Hi Andrew,
I'm using ifInUcastPkts (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.11) and ifOutUcastPkts
(1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.17) on my 29xx's with MRTG. That grabs unicast
packets.
I also grab these iods:
ifInNUcastPkts (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.12) // Not Unicast packets,
ifOutNUcastPkts (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.18) // aka,
WS-C3750G-12S-E = 12 k$
ME-3400G-12CS-A + Metro IP Access = 10 k$
Then add the price of a RPS2300 to the 3750.
You'd still be missing stackwise
Stacking IMO isn't so important. If you need that density, you'd
likely be looking at another platform anyway. But YMMV, of cause.

Hi,
Does anyone happen to know the routing table size capacity of the ME-3400G
series ?
I am wondering if the box will be able to take full BGP table, which I very
much doubt it will be.
Will be really appreciate any input on this.

The SDM templates are used for route table sizing. The total number
listed is approximate number and the number of entries will depend on
mask length and prefixes.

Thanks for any contributions here.
This is hypothetical and not production. Assume a single company with
hundreds of remote sites. With today's MPLS environments you have 100's of
sites(T1's) coming back into a single physical interface(DS3) on the router.
