Correct. It isn't an instant poll in Lync or Jabber. Just a caveat to the Wimdows presence API. Additional presence is available is IM&P has an Exchange server as a presence source. That way you can be offline with Jabber and 'In a meeting' will still show if there is a calendar event. I looked in outlook if he has multiple calendars which he did not, when he logs into Jabber his status shows as “available” for around 15 seconds before changing to “In a meeting”. If I clear the local Jabber CSF folders it still displays the same behavior.
