*Senior Network Engineer/ Architect*
*Location: Peoria, IL*

*Job Description:*
*Reports to:* IT Manager
*Division:* Information Technology
*Purpose:* Network Engineer - Design, implement and support enterprise
network solutions on a HP and Cisco network. This role requires
level-three network expertise. This includes working closely with other
technical departments, vendors and clients to solve complex systems
services problems. Provide in depth system support for areas of expertise,
working closely with all Technical Services and Operations areas,
Application Development, clients and vendors as required.
*Responsibilities:*
Architect, implement, and support infrastructure solutions that
enable larger scale projects and functionality.
Advise project team by facilitating and coordinating work activity
Provide input on costs, benefits, issues and risks related to
development and support activities
Serve as project or technical lead as assigned
Develop and maintain expertise in primary areas of responsibility,
and train team members as required.
Participate in hardware and/or software studies and provide
recommendations to management on study results
Apply expertise to best practices, methodology refinement, and
solution validation
Provides consultation to the operations team as needed
Provide ‘Level 3’ support; isolate and resolve highly complex
problems to achieve a stable environment
Manage relationships between vendor support providers and IT,
including communication, prioritization, coordination, and allocation of
resources
Provide input in the development of IT application and
architecture strategies
Requirements:
4 year college degree or technical training certification (Cisco
CCNA or higher)
5 - 8 years of professional experience with the following:
Excellent overall understanding of IT roles and responsibilities
Excellent ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Experience with the following technologies:
o Hewlett Packard routers and switches
o Cat OS, IOS, and Nexus OS
o Routing protocols EIGRP, BGP, OSFP, IPSec, GRE, 802.11 a/b/g/n
o ACL’s, IPS, Zone Based Firewall
o MPLS
o WiFi
o VLAN
o MDF/IDF wiring plant support
o VoIP
o Trouble shooting tools – Wireshark, Fluke meter
o ASA or Checkpoint firewalls
Other Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication
Self-starter and able to work without direction
Ability to work well independently and as a team
