Description :* * * Title: Java Developer Location: Riverwoods, IL Duration: 15 Months Job Overview: Support & Maintenance of multiple Internet Applications, Which is primarily written utilizing Java, J2EE, Struts, JBoss, Oracle stored procedures, Unix Shell Scripting. The successful candidate should have a good track record in development and be prepared to spend time supporting the production system. They will be required to demonstrate a mature and constructive approach to troubleshooting. The internet applications are part of the Diners Club International technology group and provide the DCI business with a global platform for online statements, online reporting and batch processing. There are multiple applications migrated from Citi platform as part of the large migration program happened this year. Duties & Responsibilities: Development duties will include Analyze, design, code, and as required test enhancements to complex modules. • Work with Application Architects/Business Process Architects/Specialists and other System Specialists to gather and interpret user/system requirements into design specifications. Coordinate Offshore teams…. • Develop system specifications and interfaces for complex components. • Design and code applications to functional and technical programming standards. • Provide primary support toward installation of application releases into production as directed. • Coordinate and participate in structured peer reviews / walkthroughs. • Plan and execute all required process steps as defined in our methodologies. • Create operational documentation for the Application. • Coordinate work with other Systems Specialists on and across Applications. • Provide application/technical support as required, in a timely manner. • Review and understand the Application workplan. • Meet service commitments for assigned deliverables and proactively provide work status. • Provide input to assist in determining level of effort • Organize and prepare work effectively to facilitate proactive resolution of problems, rather than reactive. • Coordinate with users and developers located in different geographic regions Skill, Experience & General information Required: Basic Technical Requirements • Strong Java/ J2EE experience (4 years) • Struts (4 years) • Good experience with Enterprise application servers preferably with JBoss. (4 years) • Strong programming skills with emphasis on SQL and stored procedures. • Jasper Reports (2 years) • Experience with software development best practices (RUP, XP, Agile) • Strong hands on experience with UML • Excellent object oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with emphasis on Java/J2EE technology • Extensive hands on experience with web applications using Java, J2EE, EJB, Hibernate, JSP, JDBC, JMX, JMS, Log4J, Web Services and MQ • Proven hands experience with DAO and Data Services. • Wide breadth of knowledge across many Java Open-Source technologies including AJAX, Spring Framework, Ant, Struts 2, Spring, XML parser technology, SOA based infrastructure and JUnit • Excellent application performance tuning skills • Experience with RDBMS (DB2, Oracle or MS SQL) Software: 1. JBoss 2. Oracle Languages: 1. Java/J2EE 2. SQL Desirable Skills • Exposure to the Credit Card domain • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
