Role: UI/UX DEVELOPER Location: ANN ARBOR, MI Duration:6 MONTHS!!!! GC EAD GC or USC *Position Summary: *The eCommerce Web Development & Design specialist is a talented UI engineer responsible for implementing and maintaining the domestic and international eCommerce website by writing clean, well-engineered code that conforms to accepted standards. Additionally, they will design user-focused, production-ready layouts and assets in close collaboration with the marketing and development teams. *Duties and Responsibilities* · Collaborates with marketing, agency and in-house developers, business analysts, and technical project team on web design and development tasks · Writes, modifies, and debugs web user interfaces in HTML, CSS & JS · Creates user-focused wireframes and mockups from client concepts · Creates production-ready layouts and assets, designing within existing brand standards · Applies user interface design skills when implementing features · Ability to rapidly prototype new ideas, concepts, and designs · Estimates the duration of design & development tasks on an ongoing basis · Will provide production support *Qualifications* · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience · 3 years experience building responsive web-based front ends for viewing on multiple browsers, operating systems, and platforms (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari, handheld devices) · Fluent in HTML & CSS; working JavaScript knowledge (experience with modern JS frameworks like React, Backbone, etc is a plus) · Expertise creating web production-ready assets (including vector art) in Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software · Ability to effectively communicate and defend design process and deliverables to both project stakeholders and development team · Deep understanding of mobile first and responsive web design · Excellent team player with good communication skills with both non-technical & technical co-workers · Highly motivated and driven by a desire to solve difficult problems, and learn new technology Ancillary Qualifications: *Qualifications listed below, while not necessarily a requirement for this position in each circumstance, provide additional depth and value to the role.* · Masters’ degree in computer science or related field. · Agile development experience. · eCommerce site experience. · Experience developing web sites with international requirements, multiple languages preferred. Other important information about this position: · This position will be based in our World Resource Center in Ann Arbor, MI. · This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
