Data Warehouse Tester Location: Ashburn, VA Length: 6 months Rate: Open all inc. Interview: Phone Job Description: Responsible for the planning execution and tracking of Functional, Regression and System/Integration testing for a large Data warehouse system. Resource has to work closely with the business analyst, developers, database analysts, and other team members through Project initiation to closure. Required Skills: 6+ years experience in backend database testing. Experience in IT Telecommunication. Experience in testing Teradata and building complex sql queries. Experience in testing datastage. Experience in testing UNIX environments. Experience testing in batch and interactive mainframe environments. Analyze business and technical requirements to define testing objectives and create detailed test cases/scripts. Develop and execute test scripts utilizing HP’s Quality Center. Participate in test plan and test case reviews, maintain testing issues lists and follow up as necessary. Coordinate with interfacing teams for test files, environment setup, and test case execution. Ability to monitor progress, status and execution and provide detailed direction and feedback. Ability to quickly gain system expertise and become a contributor to the team. Assist Application Developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving defects. Demonstrate strong facilitation skills during all phases of testing, especially User Testing. Strong communication, both oral and written is required. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Self-motivated to learn new concepts and skills. Ability to build strong relationships. Strategic and tactical thinking. Ability to adapt to a wide variety of situations.
