Acts as highest level Service Oriented Architecture technical expert. This resource will also be responsible for tuning, trouble-shooting and maintenance of IBM Datapower, with SOA compliance. Working with Developers, Testers, Project Managers for project development, performance and trouble-shooting. Design and documentation of complex extended environment with load balancers, web servers, application servers, databases and security devices. Providing 24/7 on call support for deployments. REQUIRED SKILLS: Service Development Methodology · Lead the creation, implementation, communication, and on-going support of service component level development and integration standards and processes. · Provide technical leadership / guidance / mentorship including instructing, directing, and checking the work of other service developers · Stay abreast of technology advances in applications of expertise · Develop knowledge and expertise in additional services or technologies Service Design · Partner with clients, SOA architects, service analysts, vendors and other IT professionals to design service based solutions for business problems · Assist the Service Analyst as necessary during Service Modeling · Design service contracts for entity, utility and task services to fully define service operations, policy definitions and service level agreements · Ensure quality and completeness of Service Contracts by participating in design reviews · Create service logic design specifications for developers to build services · Register service contract information to provide information to other project team about services nearing development and deployment stages · Assess the Service Logic Design specification to validate compliance with design standards and service-orientation design principles by participating in design reviews · Participate in the review of service logic design specifications for legal & compliance requirements · Participate in the service life cycle for improvement recommendations or for decommissioning · Ensure designs meet the TMSBs and align with enterprise standards and principles · Drive high quality service components through well-defined designs as well as proper architectural layering, componentization and reuse of services across applications · Analyze vendor solutions and off the shelf applications for integration with services. Identify risks and benefits. Provide recommendations · Ensure service based solutions satisfy requirements and integrate as a cohesive system · Ensure solutions drive simplification and standardization through effective use of design patterns and reusable services · Ensure solutions are sustainable, secure, scalable, and offer flexibility for future growth · Successfully explain designs or conceptual ideas in layman's terms to clients, management and other colleagues who are not IT professionals · Responsible for understanding latest technology implemented in environment. Project Execution · Prioritize and rationalize work to TPMs for critical project timelines · Lead the development, testing, implementation solutions for large, complex projects. · Coordinate with vendors for software installations, and as focal point for technical issues · Assist in the definition of system and other non-functional requirements. · Instruct, direct, and check the work of other service developers or service architects as needed · Provide technical development plans breaking work into manageable tasks. · Create estimates for service based software solutions. · Forecast resource needs for SOA projects. · Leads technical team design, construction, testing, and implementation of SOA components for large, complex projects. · Translates business needs into SOA solutions. · Creates Service Design and leads development with SOA principles. · Partners with Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to establish positive relationships with clients and to establish project direction and requirements. · Partners with Technical Project Manager, in development of project plan and schedule. · Track and measure usage/performance of services with standard metrics.
