JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Minimum of 7 years of heavy database administration experience and
production support in large, complex
environments. (MS SQL 2012)
•Experience with SQL Server’s AlwaysOn technologies?  We currently have
this implemented at Element, and definitely need knowledge in this space.
•Experience with *PowerShell*
•*DB Backup/Recovery experience*
•Provide on-call rotational 24/7 Incident Response to database alerts from
production monitoring tools and
Command Center personnel
•Experience with *Agile* project management methodologies
•Responsible for database design, development and administration of large
scale Operational, *OLTP* and
analytical data structures including logical and physical design
•Strong Communication Skills
•Provides detailed project planning and may act as project manager on large
database infrastructure
initiatives
•Builds and maintains relationships with IT business application groups and
with infrastructure teams
•Leads others to identify, test, and resolve complex database performance
issues
•Has in-depth expertise in own database discipline and knowledge of the
related disciplines
•Researches and recommends process improvement solutions; works through
obstacles to implement
•Develop and maintain vendor relationships; Drive *DBMS* software vendors
to obtain maximum value from
software maintenance and support contracts
•Conduct research on new database features and exploit those features in
the environment in order to reduce
infrastructure costs
•Review, assign, and monitor *ticket request/*incident queues to ensure
SLA's are met
•Function as an individual contributor in the management, coordination, and
execution of a variety of projects
and tasks ranging from low to high degrees of complexity
•Ensure that audit and compliance processes are defined and executed.
•Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed
decisions regarding resource
management
•Implement and analyze Key Performance Metrics and make recommendations
