Sorry guys
I understand that I'm a newbie and I'm probably asking the wrong
question.
I've succesfuly compiled clamav on a Linux RH 9 the new stable 0.65
release, but it seems I'm unable to compile on a production RH 9 linux
box.
I'm facing the following:
gcc -g -O2 -o .libs/clamscan

Hello again,
Thanks Dirk and Odhiambo for suggestions.
I changed clamav.conf so now it looks for
LocalSocket /tmp/clamd
Next I have given ovnership for clamd to amavis (chmod vscan:vscan) but
it appears that amavis does not start clamd daemon. User vscan start
manually cmamd witout errors.
Did you comment the line in the clamav.conf that says Example ? (I think it's the
8th line)
Maybe clamd deads when you invoke it, becuase that line is not commented.
If you not comment that line, clamd will not start.

Hi,
The problem wasn't related to the /tmp dir, but due to an incorrectly created
/dev/urandom entry in the chrooted directory.
This caused clamd to wait for data which never came, resulting in a hang.

Reijer
