Is there a reason you just run a two year old version?
Please post a portion of your freshclam.log that shows what isn't working for
you.

Running top shows me lots of clamav-milter
processes and
ps aux shows hundreds of lines like
this:

Is there something wrong here? Why are there so
many?

But it doesnt alert on ClamAV-Test-Signature. The mail is going through.
