I just need to get the computer to go past the block in the boot
I just got a new/used computer. It has Debian on it and was booting fine. But

The ClamAV engine won't update itself automatically. You will have to
manually perform that operation. The latest version of ClamAV (version

Can you contact the previous owner and ask them if there is something
custom running at boot?
Is there anything too important on the computer to do a fresh install?
Are you at a terminal prompt, can you type commands?

It has to be something else causing the hang. That notice is just a
warning message and should not affect the boot process.
Have you tried booting into single user mode? I don't

If it's using Grub to boot, then you should be able to get to single
