Analyse the virus and create a signature. If it's a real virus (and not
a static malware) your chances for creating good sig are rather small.
i am running freshclam as a daemon with 25 updates a day.

I have been using clamav since .75 and had no issues on Red
Hat 9, Fedora 2 or 3. Well had some issues but nothing a quick RTFM could not
solve.
All in all a great product and works better than other commercial
products I have tried.
