Hi,
I get an error message when scanning a tar.gz archive:
$ clamscan archive.tar.gz
LibClamAV Error: cli_untar: unknown type flag L
archive.tar.gz: Input/Output error
ClamAV version is 0.80. Unpacking the archive with tar xzf works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Holger

Hi,
running clamscan returns error code '124' sometimes. I can not find this
error code in the documentation.
What does it mean?

We had a problem a while back of certain zip files failing to be scanned by
clam. This was apparently fixed (zzip-file.c) but now we want to test this
on our machines.
We unfortunately don't have a zip file that caused the problems anymore. I
am unable to generate such a file with

just tried ClamAV devel-20050119. It now shows the message only
standard TAR files are currently supported and exits with

This is a script used to set up autostart. How it is implemented depends on
which distro, any good book on linux will tell you how to do that, but to get
you started try putting it in

Dear All,
I have downloaded the 0.80 version yesterday and compiled and run it on
both a Linux machine and a Solaris 9 machine. The following problem is
found on both platforms:-
I have a virus file and I tried scanning it with clamscan, and it did not

Hi,
This evidently has been covered before, but I couldn't find a resolution.
I'm running OpenBSD 3.1 and have ClamAV 0.60 - should have upgraded long ago...
I can't get ClamAV 0.80 to compile with the following error:
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I./zziplib -I./mspack -g -O2 -c

Yes. Both ClamAV _and_ the OS. They're working on 3.7 now. ;)

I am having a strange problem with clamd. It has become the biggest
bottleneck on my SMTP service but I just can't figure out why.
Perhaps this is not a clamd problem but a hardware problem!
I have tested both clamav-0.80 and clamav-devel-20050120 today.
On my diagnostics, the mail processing
