Why don't you simply right-click on the bar with titles (artist, title,
year etc etc) and simply check the option Composer !
That's all that you have to do !
And, provided your files *do* have this tag filled in, you will be able to
sort

the composer as artist". Would I have to go through over 11,000 files and
manually enter the composer in the "artist" category? And if I did, then
what would I do with the artist information that is also useful to me
I do the same as Peter, setting Artist and Composer to be the same. I then
put conductor, orchestra and soloists in either the Performer or Comments
section. I also put all music files under the same Composer folder so that
I can locate them without too much hassle.

With classical music, since the composer is the most important part, the
artist is fairly much irrelevant, I have set the composer as the artist.
Now I can listen to a composer/artist of my choosing.
