Yes it is a remote REPL. I'm using Weasel now.

I'm just trying to connect to a node.js repl from cursive. Should this work ?
In my case is does not. I just get the message 'Connecting to remote nREPL
server...' and than nothing happens.

How are you starting your REPL? It looks like you're trying to connect to a
remote nREPL server, but AFAIK nREPL hasn't been ported to Node yet -
normally you'd use something like Weasel to do this.
