Hi,
is there a special reason why the clutter debian package has
libgl1-mesa-dev in it's Build-Depends and Depends (libclutter-0.x-dev)?
I think it would be enough to set the dependency to libgl-dev, which is
provided by libgl1-mesa-dev as well as the nvidia-glx-dev package.

I think so. At least my 0.6 packages built with the nvidia headers also
run on my mesa-dri

with the release of Clutter 0.6, Clutter core trunk is now dedicated to
the 0.7 development cycle.
the stable cycle bug fixing will continue in the branches/clutter-0-6
branch.
clutter-gst, clutter-gtk, clutter-cairo and the bindings trunk depend on
clutter-0.6 until branching notice.
