Has anyone installed an Octopus linear drive on a Landfall 38? If so,
obtaining info on which model and how it was installed would be great.
As been discussed, the space for mounting a below deck autopilot drive on a
Landfall 38 is extremely limited. Successful below deck autopilot drive
Kevin,
My battery box has a fairly large hole going into the engine compartment as
well. It appears to be original. The engine compartment is ventilated,
although not as well as I would hope. Better to vent into the engine
compartment than into the cabin. My batteries are under the
Simrad looks like a good option, but I need to decide if I want an AIS
transponder.
Thanks.

I get the feeling he spends a LOT of his time that way; probably preventive
weather maintenance… :^)

It's plug and play for under $350. No wires to pull. The sound quality is
far superior to I-com and it's cheaper than Standard Horizon. I love mine.

FWIW, I upgrade Touche's VHF with each significant upgrade in features or
technology.
When I bought the boat in 1999, one of the first upgrades was a new VHF.
When RAM mikes came out, I upgraded again. When VHF's with AIS came out, I
upgraded again. I sold all the old radios on eBay or to other

BOAT SHOW?! Joel, I’m offended… :^)
Standard Horizon GX-2200. With a RAM3 mic in the cockpit. There, that was
easy. I doubt you’ll see on with a built-in Class B transceiver any time soon.
But I may be proven wrong.

13.5 volts at the source well above minimum operating voltage. Not knowing the
radio however, it probably has the ability to interface with all sorts of
things so it is more than just a radio.
You may be have inadvertently set a voltage warning on the unit.Try scrolling

Replace the VHF… :^) Check the inline fuse holder for corrosion.

I saw some on the shelf at Home Depot a few weeks back, with the paint and tape
supplies. Not sure which variety it is, though; 3M makes a bunch of different
types for different uses.

The power cord is not even tinned, so corrosion inside is highly likely. I
may open it up, but I'll likely be looking for a new radio at the boat
show. I'd like to wait until there is one with an AIS transceiver.
