I could use a new main, new genoa, and all new standing rigging, if anyone
has any lying around.

Hi Bill
I am also planning to replace our tank. The Moeller tank looks like the vent
and outlet vertically oriented fittings which makes fitting under the cockpit
sole a tight affair. Can the tank be ordered with these fittings on a 90
degree el fitting??

Glad to hear about the relatively slight losses, boat wise; I've been wondering
about St Pete; there's lots of boats in there!

I'm confused. Does your friend need the transducer (wind vane and cups)
or the display. The transducer is available from several sources
(Defender, for one). If you need the display, I have one. Let me know.

The PO of our boat had the glow plug button separated from the start button
when I got it. The Universal manual for the engine shows them in series,
meaning you'd have to hold both to start the engine so it was Universal's
design, not C's.

Hi Bruce:
I live on Tierra Verde and keep my sailboat at Gulfport Marina.
We too got lucky even though we spent two nights in the hallway of a high
school/shelter because we were concerned that storm surge would swamp our
island. (Next time, we're going to New Orleans ...)
But about half the
Thanks Joe. I thought of trimming tank upside down after I posted. Good
suggestion.
I am not sure about the ground going to the fuel gauge. I thought the purpose
of this ground was static electricity dissipation from tank and metallic filler
intake from the fuel nozzle and fueling. The
Moving ahead on the project. Old tank out. New ordered and delivered by Amazon

Two questions:

Thank you for sharing this, Bruce. So glad you and your wife and the senior

it’s wonderful to hear that your C Astralis survived the hurricane. It’s a

Paul,
No. The transducer is at the bottom of Lake Michigan. It went when the
mast broke. You can still get new transducers and cables. I think it
is $469 for the transducer and cable.

Hello all,
I thought I would share our story about Irma:
As we prepared for Irma late last week, we went from “It looks like it’s going
to miss us, but let’s prepare anyway”, to “this could be really bad, but we’ll
be OK at home”, to evacuation in anticipation of a catastrophic hit. In that
I have a ST 60 wind transducer. Needs new cups etc and the cable was cut but I
believe I still have the rest of the cable as well.
It is in Halifax, NS

Alan,
I have an ST60 display unit available from the old Redwing 35 (as well
as Speed and Wind). I didn't try to remove any transducers. The new
boat came with i50/i60 instruments.
Make me an offer.
