I took the elbow out. But before I did I ran the engine with the hose to the
elbow off. Water came out but at idle but it did not seem like it was
sufficient. More a dribble than a stream. Also, there was some sand like
residue in the water leading me to think that the exchanger may need som

I had this earlier in the year, no water coming out, temperature alarm went
off. Checked impeller, pump etc and all looked good. Figured it had to be
outside the strainer, I disconnected (keeping the end of the pipe above
waterline!) and used the bellow pump from my inflatable dinghy to blow dow

You likely have sucked up some trash or possibly a small fish and this
blocking the raw water intake line between the intake
It’s also possible the exhaust elbow has become corroded. I had to replace
one because of same issue.

is exhaust riser getting plugged by carbon etc where water enters. Will also
impact engine performance. Disconnect hose where enters exhaust riser. If
water streams, then you have your answer. Also check the
