When inspecting chainplates prior to re-rigging (standing rigging), what should I know about disassembling the bow chainplate and stemhead casting? As that area reasonably serviceable? Stainless galling and oxide seizing notwithstanding. One chainplate has already been done and looked pristine.

The T (relief) valves are supposed to be tested on a certain frequency. If you've never heard of water heater rocket launching you should look it up. It happens as a result of the T getting clogged or stuck shut and then the thermostat getting stuck on. https://youtu.be/rGWmONHipVo If they leak
