Yes. If you have a radiator cap and glycol coolant then it is freshwater
cooled.

So when the water from the engine, like my Universal, goes through a heat
exchanger where lake/bay/ocean water is pumped to cool the engine water, that's
referred to as FWC?

Hello Listers,
Today I removed a broken compass from Grenadine’s cabin wall, and a teak

Longer term I might like to glass in the holes for that and

That’s ok too. Boats are boats. Whatever you like. Do it. It’s a passion
sometimes. If she floats and looks good after 40 plus years good

Perhaps.
I’m going to keep my thoughts confined to hulls that are sprayed, not
roll-and-tipped.
I’ve found that there are varying degrees of paint jobs done to boats. This
I’ve learned from having my hull painted and from painting the topsides
FWC is fresh water cooled, RWC is raw water cooled. If you have a 2QM like I
do, it is Raw Water Cooled – water from the lake/bay/ocean is pumped through
the engine for cooling and merged with the exhaust and expelled.

That’s exactly how the job should be done.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is FWC/RWC?

No. Naphthalene is a total different chemical than liquid naphtha thinner.
Naphthalene is an aromatic (benzene ring molecular structure) while liquid
naphtha thinner is an aliphatic molecule, or straight chain carbon
structure similar to mineral spirits but more volatile than mineral
spirits.

Never heard of this before. Thanks! I suppose you could just add liquid
naphtha thinner?

I have some naphthalene moth balls which are basically pure naphthalene.
Naphthalene sublimes from solid crystals to vapour with no liquid phase and
no residue. it also dissolves in gasoline. It is quite effective in
dissolving high molecular weight organics that can mess up small orifices
such as
Bruce,
I too have NOT been made aware of Supreme/93 octane being made by default
without ethanol. The octane rating is often achieved by simply adding
toluene. I've even seen plans for toluene injection systems designed for
performance vehicles. As I understand it the octane doesn't add power

In Miami many stations offer non-ethanol gas, usually called "Recreational

It used to be that only marinas

I had C 34 hull nbr. 28. I found that in true winds above 12 kts we
experienced a lot of leeway.
I was told by C that the original design called for 6’6” of draft but the
marketing people had it cut back to 5’10”.
Rob Ball was kind enough to provide scale drawings for the shoe that we
added.

Check your own C model relative to others on the stability diagram and

It was my observation that the C 34 was a fairly tender boat and
therefore could benefit from more weight on the keel. The Dellenbaugh
stability diagram tends to agree with my observation. It is a fairly tender
boat and those i know of with added keel shoes really benefitted going to

Does hull number 1 Still exist

When I said: " (easy to get in Atlantic Canada, just buy premium gas),"
Note that I said "Atlantic Canada". All our gasoline comes from one or two
refineries, no matter which brand is on the station selling it (in Atlantic
Canada).
The 33 was the first design I did from a blank sheet at a time when our
reputation on the race course was slipping, so it was pretty stressful. Turned
out the 33 was a step up and we got our reputation back. The 34 was to replace
it with the same design BUT have standing headroom forward. It
