I believe our C&C yachts use lead doped with a percent of Antimony. The
Antimony adds strength, hardness, oxidation resistance, and aids in the flow
for the casting process. It not like pure lead, and the properties are not the

I own a C&C 41 CB hull # 93, Der Baron. Bought her new in 1986, and have
cruised/raced her ever since. We have enjoyed every minute aboard. Many
trophies, and many fine memories. My crew and I , mostly very senior citizens,
are not able to sail very much, so, I am considering the possibilit
Hi all
I've used Read Plastics in Rockville Md for a source in the past. I believe
they have been sold to Piedmont recently, but still are at the same location
and still handle polycarbonate and other sheet plastics.I've also used Maritime

I've had my C&C 41 CB since 1986.She has served my family in fine style for
many seasons on the Bay as an excellent racer and cruiser.
I've kept her in good shape by paying attention to maintenance items, keeping
the sail inventory updated, and paying attention to the many details to c

Joe,
My C&C 41CB is the tall rig. The shallow draft and the tall rig are nice
features for cruising or racing on the Chesapeake Bay.
She is more tender than my previous C&C 30, so I have to shorten sail sooner.

I lightly sanded the corner castings on the interior, and spray painted them

Joe,The best I've done is about 35 knots on my DN on the hard water here in the
Chesapeake Bay.The record for a DN iceboat is about 65 kts. It's really scary
when it goes greater than ~ 25 kts. Fortunately most of my ice sailing is
usually below 20 kts.
On Der Baron, we've occasionally hit 15-16
I was an IRC measurer for a for a few years, when IRC was just gaining
popularity in the USIRC is a measurement rule, and requires that boats be
measured or for production boats that the manufacturer certify the empty
