Looking at a ‘81 34 which, besides the galley, looks like a cotton-shrunk
version of my old 41. Any issues particularly relevant to survey on this model?

Our first sail of the season - beautiful beam reach most of the day from

Has anybody rigged up a rainwater collector? I’m not real sure about using the
sails with all the crap in the air, but I’m happy to use a purpose-built
plastic sheet tied to boom or mast or outrigger and funneled unto one of the

I am impressed with the birth of the emergency tiller. However, it would appear
that I’d have to remove the wheel pedestal to have room for it to work.
If so, does anybody have any experience doing that?? I’m also thinking
1986–this sucker is likely to be very challenging to unbolt!

I have my numbers on the bulkhead behind my stairs, but not facing the
stair but rather on the other side of the wall where there is a closet
before you reach the engine compartment. It is not in obvious sight but
easy enough to see if I remove the laundry basket from the closet.
My boat
My 1986 Hillerange oven’s pilot light will light but the mechanical bar that
is supposed to move* and then light the entire long burner does not do
anything, nor does the pilot flame get larger*.
Does anyone have some tips on how I can correct my situation? Thanks, Will

Hi. I can find that there were 700-something C built—but no breakdown by
model, so that includes all models. Does anybody know how many were 41’s? How

Still looking for help with our actual need: opening the space where our
v-berth hatch is!
Regarding comments, the roughneck unit is designed for harsh use, is marine
grade, 13,500 btu and ratings over 4.2 so I’m surprised folks think it is a
disaster already!
The unsaid background is this:

Hi all, I’m new. Joy and I have a 1986 CNC 41.
We have bought a rooftop A/C unit that would fit over our V-berth hatch. My
problem is I can’t figure out how to either remove the hatch lid, or remove the
glass in the hatch lid in order to create the needed opening.
