I made a few seat bases many years ago for a neighbor, they were simply a SS (or could be aluminum) plate welded to a hexish stub machined to fit into the cockpit coaming Winches. Then a simple plastic seat screwed onto the plate. Not this, but kind of like it. https://www.westmarine.com/b

We also used stadium chairs for a while. They worked OK but we took them off the boat for space and weight considerations. Now we use folded beach towels and cushions from the settee and dinette below. On another note, we keep a folding table similar to one of these on board: https://www.woodsc
