I asked the Steiner rep why they used metal on their bags. I could never get
mine open. They sent me a new bag with an all plastic zipper.

I replaced some of my corroded metal zipper pulls with plastic ones from
Sailrite. I don't know why they still use metal ones on plastic zippers.

Just reporting back I soaked the zipper in vinegar for a few days. Need to
replace handle but zipper works like a charm. Many thanks for the tip
