Dave has Stemball Fittings on his shrouds, not T-Ball fittings. He
probably has a t-Ball Fitting on his Baby Stay (and on his running Back
Check Stays if he has them) but that's about it.
T-Ball fittings need the rubber plugs, Stemballs don't.

Hey guys,
I just found one my hydraulic backstay hoses is leaking. It looks like it
is leaking through the hose not at any of the fittings or the hydraulic
cylinder. Any words of wisdom regarding it's replacement?

Hi Richard,
Just use a snack block to your toe-rail when you ned a little down-wing vang.
Save your money and buy a good hard-vang that will likely attach to the mast

Or,

Boy am I glad I asked you guys about this! I went up the mast yesterday - the

+1 for the Garhauer cars.

I was getting ready to anchor in a secluded bay Saturday night as it was
getting dark, and watched as two catamarans motored in to drop their hooks.
One had ONLY its anchor light on; the other came in with a mast-mounted bicolor

Yep, but no adjustable cars. I'd love to see pics...
Like many variations I suspect they were custom factory options to the original
owner. For example, Alera does not have adjustable back stay either and the
traveler is in front of the pedestal at the end of the boom. But these are

Actually, the biggest advantage is when you are sailing in big seas. I had an
encounter where the nav lights were not visible, because they were obscured by
the waves.
If I am not mistaken you can have a red-over-green combination on the masthead
in addition to the normal nav lights at the
